El vino de rioja

Crossing the Ebro river, it was various Mediterranean peoples who first introduced wine growing to the Rioja region. However the real spread of viticulture is attributed to the monks of the region. References to wine appear in the verses of the 13th century poet Gonzalo de Berceo. In the reservas of Marqués de Campo Nuble the experience and know-how of this 100 year old Rioja wine cellar has reached its plenitud. However, as well as following traditional methods of cultivating Rioja, it has also ensured that its wines cleave toward more modern practices too. Thanks to continual investment, many thousands of different oak barrels store the most sought after wines from each harvest. Cultivated and matured under the wise and watchful eye of a technical team whose experience, accumulated over the course of a century, has combined with the latest oenological advances. The transfer and mixing of wines are conducted with tender, loving care, in such a way that each wine achieves both a perfect balance and the perfect expression of its own unique qualities.
